The new 2011/2012 Wisper Alpino range is for the more demanding rider.
The Alpinos are distinctive bikes; all display the Wisper heritage of a graceful and aesthetically pleasing frame - but in a superb Glacial White.
Not only does the Alpino have a slightly larger frame, but they are also fitted as standard with 28 inch wheels (with a Kenda K935 700x45c puncture resistant tyre) which give a smoother ride quality than a 26 inch wheel, and less rolling resistance.
All models are fitted with an Ultra High Efficiency front wheel drive brushless electric motor with a 250w rating. Coupled with the massive 16A Lithium Polymer battery, these are truly mile munching machines.
The Alpinos are also great for commuting, as they are all fitted with the superb Shimano Alfine 8 speed rear hub gearbox, which means no more fussing with slipping gears and dirty chains on the way in to work! Shimano vented disc brakes are fitted as standard on the full size models The 806 Alpino folder has Tektro V-Brakes front and rear.
Further levels of comfort and sophistication make the 906 Alpinos truly the Flagship of the Wisper range. All are fitted with quality saddles made by Velo, supplemented with a suspension seat post.
A neat liquid crystal display is fitted which is used to set the level of desired power assistance, and to display power, battery level and speed and distance information to the rider. The Alpinos are also fitted with an integrated lighting system, controlled from the LCD panel. The LCD panel is also backlit for nightime riding.
All models in the Alpino range have both Twist and Go and automatic pedal assist modes.
