Why a Powabyke?
As a true electric bike specialist, we have a responsibility to you - our customers to offer you the complete spectrum of machines - a range that suits all pockets, and all types of riding requirements. To that end, we are pleased to be able to supply the complete range of Powabykes.
We decided on Powabykes and their range of electric bicycles, because they complement the Wisper range, and offer good rugged dependability and a high quality product for a different sector of the market, with different aspirations.
Founded in 1999 and having sold over 30,000 electric bikes in the UK and overseas, Powabyke have focused their efforts for the past 10 years on overcoming the problems traditionally associated with electric cycles. With a modern, smart, lightweight design, the whole bike, complete with battery weighs under 25kg.
Designed with both commuting and leisure purposes in mind, the X-byke range is available as either a 6-speed X6 model, or a 24-speed X24 model. The 6-speed version is also available with the European preferred low step through frame.
The new X-Byke range starts with the X6LS, which is a six speed European style unisex step through Commuter/Utility bike. This bike has a Shimano 6 speed transmission system, and a 250w front wheel mounted motor. The battery is a 36 volt 6 amp hour Lithium-ion batery pack, which gives enough capacity to power the bike for 20 - 25 miles in power assist mode, reducing to up to 15 miles in pure power mode. Naturally these ranges are variable according to the weight of the rider, the nature of the terrain, and the conditions of the road surface, and wind conditions.
The bike is fitted with 28 inch/700c wheels, and features a fitted stand, a sprung seat post for absorbing those lumps and bumps, and a rear carrier and rack.
The frames are available in two sizes, either a 15 inch or an 18 inch, finished in an attractive silver and metallic blue paint. The bike weighs in at just under 23kg including the battery which weighs 2.5kg.
This entry level bike represents extremely good value for money at £829.00 including VAT.
If the Euro step through style isnt your cup of tea, then maybe the X6 Powabyke may suit you better, which looks very similar to any modern hybrid bicycle. It is fitted with exactly the same specification as the X6LS, but with a crossbar style of frame. The cost is the same too - just £829.00 including VAT
For those individuals wanting more flexibilty, then we would recommend the Powabyke X-24, which benefits from a 24 speed Shimano derailleur gearbox, and comes in a 21 inch frame size. Its also available with optional mountain bike suspension forks. Finished in a very nice Silver and metallic black paintwork, and fitted with a stand, sprung seat post, and a rear carrier/rack. Available for just £929.00 including VAT
Note that all models supplied wiill be supplied with the standard Powabyke warranty, and come complete with a mains charger. Additional batteries are available as an optional extra. All bikes are delivered after undergoing a full pre-delivery inspection. Orders placed over the internet will be subject to an additional delivery charge.
